Women’s Lacrosse named Academic Honor Squad, 2 Tigers earn Academic Honor Roll accolades from IWLCA for 2024 season

SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg women's lacrosse program earned Academic Honor Squad recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association for the 2023-24 academic year, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The IWLCA also recognized Wittenberg seniors Zoe Chirumbolo McKee (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) and Jessica Flick (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) as members of its 2024 NCAA Division III Academic Honor Roll.
Wittenberg was among 325 schools across NCAA Division I, II and III and NAIA to earn Academic Honor Squad recognition from the IWLCA for 2023-24. To qualify for the prestigious honor, a team must have posted a team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic year.
Chirumbolo McKee and Flick were among 1,125 student-athletes representing 201 different institutions on the 2024 Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Flick, an education major, led the women's lacrosse team in points (79), goals (66) and assists (13) in 2024 en route to being named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team and College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District Team. She earned NCAC Athlete of the Week recognition on Feb. 27 and closed the year leading the NCAC in goals per game and points per game. She posted 13 hat tricks in starting all 16 games while adding 15 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and 17 draw controls.
A two-time All-NCAC honoree in her career, Flick started all 57 games she played at Wittenberg, totaling 179 points on 152 goals and 27 assists with 29 hat tricks. She ranks fifth in program history in goals and is tied for seventh all-time in points while adding 64 ground balls, 26 caused turnovers and 47 draw controls.
Chirumbolo McKee, a biology major, was named to the All-NCAC Third Team and CSC At-Large Academic All-District Team this season after starting all 16 games and leading the team in caused turnovers (33) and ground balls (43). She ranked second in the NCAC in caused turnovers per game and fourth in ground balls per game.
Chirumbolo McKee started 48 of her 49 career games at Wittenberg and has 73 caused turnovers and 106 ground balls to go with one goal and 59 draw controls. She ranks sixth all-time at Wittenberg in caused turnovers.
