Delaware, OH-After Ohio Wesleyan put up a humongous first quarter, the Tigers faced a large deficit and were unable to claw their way back, ultimate falling to the Battling Bishops, 21-2, at Selby Stadium on Friday, April 10.
In the first quarter, the Battling Bishops scored eight unasnwered goals and after going up nine, Alyssa Burnside (Hilliard, OH / Bradley) lit up the scoreboard for the Tigers after getting an assist from Sophia Meek (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange) in the second quarter. By halftime, the Tigers were down 13-1 with no signs of slowing down. After Ohio Wesleyan added another goal to start the second half, Jarya Hassell (Bellbrook, OH / Bellbrook) found the back of the net after Maren Raymond (Louisville, KY / Ballard) found her with a stellar pass. Unfortunately, the Battling Bishops kept scoring, while holding the Tigers scoreless for the final 26 minutes of play as the game ended un blowout fashion, 21-2 in favor of the home team.
