Bio

Becca Joseph was named Wittenberg's women's lacrosse head coach prior to the 2022 season. In June 2025, Joseph announced that she was leaving the position to pursue other professional opportunities.

Joseph returned to her alma mater after three years as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern University, where she helped lead the team to the first conference tournament appearance in program history. Joseph's first coaching experience was at Earlham College as an assistant coach for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. During her time at Earlham, Joseph was also the team coach for Indy United, a club organization in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joseph prepared the class of 2020 for recruiting tournaments and showcases while coaching them for summer tournament play.

"We are extremely excited about Becca leading our Women's lacrosse program into the future," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Agler. "She was an all-time great player here. She knows Wittenberg and will do a great job recruiting and building back our program."

In her four seasons at the helm, Joseph guided 10 different players to All-NCAC awards as she re-built a roster thinned by pandemic restrictions in 2020 and 2021. In 2024, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 6-10, the program's highest win total in five years.

Joseph was a record-breaking offensive player for the Tigers from 2014-17. Among her three All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honors were first-team All-NCAC selections following her sophomore and junior seasons. She was also honored as an All-Great Lakes Region player in 2016 after scoring 51 goals and logging 36 assists. Joseph remains the program's career leader in points (328) and assists (138) and second with in goals (190). She also currently ranks first for season assists (52) and points (112).

At Wittenberg, Joseph double majored in sport management and business, concentrating in finance. She went on to receive a Master of Science in Sport Management from The Ohio State University while working as a graduate assistant in the Department of Athletics. Joseph, who also has professional experience as a sales associate with the Toledo Mud Hens, is a native of Toledo, Ohio, and a graduate of St. Ursula Academy, where she was a three-sport athlete in lacrosse, basketball, and soccer.
