GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tiger women's tennis team traveled to Kenyon College on Saturday to engage in conference competition with the nationally-ranked Kenyon Ladies, and fell by a score of 8-1.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, this case was pretty much open and shut. The Red & White saw their only victory in the number three doubles fortune of junior Allison Earhart (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) and freshman Elizabeth Micheletti (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West), who handled their opponents with an 8-5 mark.
Earhart later put up a strong showing against Kenyon's number one, Meredith Brown, losing by scores of 7-5 and 6-3. The rest of the singles lineup met with the same fate, with only sophomore Emily Nash (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) taking a game from her opponent in the number five spot.
The Tigers take a short break before playing again on April 1, in a trip to Denison for a match-time of 4 p.m.
