Wittenberg Pulls Away For Win Over John Carroll
The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated John Carroll by a score of 6-3 on Saturday in a match at the Dayton Center Courts.
DAYTON, Ohio - The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated John Carroll by a score of 6-3 on Saturday in a match at the Dayton Center Courts.
Wittenberg acheived victory despite losing at both the number one singles and doubles spots. In doubles action the Tigers picked up both the remaining spots and in singles competition won all but one of the other matches.
Allison Earhart (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) and Elizabeth Micheletti (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) won their number two doubles match to start off the winning for Wittenberg, followed by aMarisa Pechawer (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) and Emily Nash (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) victory in the number three spot.
In the singles portion, Jayne Miely (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) took the number two matchup, followed by wins from Kat Sundstrom (Trafalgar, Ind./North Central), Micheletti, and Sean Delaney (Powell, Ohio/Worthington Christian) in the third, fourth, and sixth spots respectively to win the day for the Tigers.
