Women's Tennis defeats DePauw 6-3

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated DePauw 6-3 in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Sunday. Wittenberg picked up its first conference win of the season while handing DePauw its first conference defeat of the year.

The Match
- Wittenberg won all three doubles courts. Junior Caroline Sproule (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and freshman Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) won 8-6 at No. 1, freshmen Sophia Pischalko (Granger, Ind./Penn) and Breanna Ball (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) won 8-4 at No. 2, and freshmen Lilly Hartman (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) and Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) won 8-7(7-3) at No. 3.
- Wittenberg won three of the six singles courts to secure the victory in the match.
- Sproule won 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, Ball won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5, and Hartman clinched the match with a thrilling 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(5-0) win at No. 6.
- In the remaining singles matches, Wilson fell 4-6, 1-6 at No. 2, Loomis fell 1-6, 0-6 at No. 3, and Pischalko fell 6-7(0-5), 4-6 at No. 4.
