Tiger Track and Field Teams Celebrate Seniors at Wittenberg Invite
SPRINGFIELD, OH - On the same day that Wittenberg Men's and Women's Track and Field hosted the annual Wittenberg Invite, marking the final regular season indoor meet, the Tigers celebrated Senior Recognition Day with a ceremony prior to the meet. The senior recognized form the women's team were Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut), Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH Springfield), Emma Hawk (Marion, OH River Valley), Tiffany Hix (Prospect, OH / Elgin), Mackenzie Kelley (Altoona, PA Altoona Area), Aly Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester, OH / Canal Winchester), and Libby Weisenberger (Collins, OH Western Reserve). Over the course of the day, many athletes were able to have excellent performances.
After the Senior Recognition Day ceremony concluded, the Tigers got down to the business of preparing for the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor Track and Field championships, which will also take place in Wittenberg's home facility, The Steemer, on Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28. The Wittenberg Invite served as an outstanding tune-up, as it featured a strong field of teams, including numerous NCAA Division I and II scholarship programs.
Top Eight Finishes
- Morgan Hunter (Rockford, OH / Parkway) took seventh in the 60 meter dash in a time of 8.03 seconds.
- In the 1000 meter run, Alex Couch (Howard, OH / Mount Vernon) took second in 3:11.29.
- Svetlana Daniels (London, OH / Madison Plains) won the 5000 meter run in 19:24.57.
- Rachel Lahrmer (Sagamore Hills, OH / Nordonia) took third in the 5000 meter in a time of 21:01.11.
- Rebekah Case (Mansfield, OH / Lucas) was fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.51 meters.
