Track Teams Travel South for a Busy Weekend

CLEVELAND, TN/KNOXVILLE, TN/DELAWARE, OH- This past weekend, the men's track team traveled to Knoxville to compete in the Tennesee Invitational at the University of Tennesee and the Fast Break Invitational at Lee University hosted by Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. THe women's team competed in the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan, as well as the Fast Break Invitational.

The men's team had a stellar outing at the University of Tennessee, compiling multiple top 20 finishes. The first of the day came from Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) as he took 16th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.39 seconds. Kittle then logged a top 10 finish as he was 8th in the 400 meter dash in 47.43 seconds. In the 110 meter hurdles, Kory Davis (Brookville, OH / Brookville) finished in 14.77 seconds for 18th overall. Riley Payne (Hamilton, OH / Trenton Edgewood) was 20th in the saem event in 14.83 seconds. In the 400 meter hurdles, Owen Bier (Elyria, OH / Midview) went home with 12th place in a time of 54.46 seconds. The Wittenberg 4x100 meter relay team of Kittle, Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), Neal Godfrey (Columbus, OH / St. Francis DeSales) and Elijah Simmons (Jacksonville, FL / Groveport Madison (OH)) finished in 11th in a time of 41.43 seconds.

The men also had some career bests and a record tying performance at the Fast Break Invitational as well. Antonio Weaver (Columbus, OH / Independence) tied the program record in the long jump with a leap of 7.21 meters and now ranks sixth in the event in Division III. In the 10,000 meter, Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH / Northmont) now holds the 19th time in Division III with a personal best time of 39:27.10.

Top 10 Finishes (All at Fast Break Invitational unless noted)

• Omega Waller (Canal Winchester, OH / Independence) took second in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 56.07 seconds, number 85 in Division III.
• The 4x400 meter team of Waller, Mason Duncan (Cardington, OH / Highland), Dashawn Seye (Centerville, OH / Centerville) and Jhoodley Tilien (Springfield, OH / Springfield) took 6th with a time of 3:27.34.
• In discus, Troy Crosby (Clayton, OH / Northmont) was fifth with a toss of 42.45 meters.
• AJ Sutherly (Marysville, OH / Marysville) was ninth in discus with is distance of 39.60 meters.
• Parker Sothard (Springfield, OH / Springfield) was tenth in discus with a throw of 39.12 meters.
• Max Green (Centerville, OH / Centerville) took fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.90 meters.
• Sutherly was tenth in the hammer throw at 42.85 meters.
• Nick Farfoglia (Manchester, MD / Manchester Valley) was fifth in the javelin throw, launching the javelin 42.26 meters.
• Daniel Walker (Milford, OH / Milford) was ninth in the shot put with a throw of 14.50 meters.
• DaVonte Dungy (Indianapolis, IN / Warren Central) took tenth in the shot put with a distance of 14.24 meters.
• Morgan Hunter (Rockford, OH / Parkway) finished tenth in the 100 meter dash with a season best time of 13.63 seconds.
• Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut) took third in the 400 meters with a time of 57.90 seconds, ranking 50th in Division III.
• The 4x100 meter relay team of Hunter, Danne, My'Ana Yancey (Canal Winchester, OH / Groveport-Madison) and Jenna Delp (Canton, OH / GlenOak) were fourth in a time of 48.71 seconds and are now number 55 in Division III.
• The 4x400 meter team of Danne, Yancey, Delp and Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH / Springfield) took fifth in a time of 4:07.94.
• Kerrington Harper (Mason, OH / Mason) tied for sixth in the high jump, leaping 1.500 meters.
• Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) was seventh in the javelin throw with a distance of 31.79 meters.
• Tyra Jackson (Lorain, OH / Lorain) was tenth in the long jump with a jump of 5.19 meters.
• Story Laing (Granville, OH / Granville) tied for sixth in pole vault with a height of 3.47 meters as she moves to number 58 in Division III.
• Alexia Coolbaugh (Shreve, OH / Triway) was ninth in the shot put with a toss of 10.97 meters.
• Hrper also took fourth in the triple jump at 11.11 meters and is now 36th in Division III.
• At All-Ohio at Ohio Wesleyan, Svetlana Daniels (London, OH / Madison Plains) took ninth in the 10,000 meters in a time of 40:36.11.
