Eaton, Men's 4x400 Relay Post Qualifying Marks at Augustana
ROCK ISLAND, IL - Wittenberg University's men's and women's track and field teams closed out the 2025-26 outdoor season with a strong showing at the Augustana (IL) Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier. Competing against nearly 100 programs from across the country, the Tigers set a host of personal-best marks, set two new school records, and qualified multiple athletes to the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships.
The biggest news for the Tigers is that sophomore Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) set a personal-best mark of 1.69 meters in the high jump and has positioned herself to qualify for the national championships for the first time in her collegiate career. That mark puts Eaton 14th in the nation in the event.
Eaton is likely to be joined at the NCAA event, to be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse May 23-25, by members of the men's 4x400-meter relay. The quartet of senior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), junior Owen Bier (Elyria, OH / Midview), sophomore Kory Davis (Brookville, OH / Brookville), and sophomore Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) finished second at Augustana with a blistering time of 3:10.75, which ranks eighth nationally and broke the school record.
Elsewhere at Augustana, Max Green (Centerville, OH / Centerville) finished 12th in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 52.01 meters, Toriano Johnson (Loveland, OH / Kings) ran a personal-best of 22.48 in the 200-meter dash, Neal Godfrey (Columbus, OH / St. Francis DeSales) ran a personal-best of 22.49 in the 200-meter dash, Riley Payne (Hamilton, OH / Trenton Edgewood) finished ninth in the 110-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of 14.58, and Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut) finished third in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:11.78
Rounding things out, Kittle won the 200-meter dash in a time of 21.21. He will compete in the event at the NCAA Division III Championships.
