Six Tigers Earn Academic All-District Honors from CSC
SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg had six student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Academic All-District team for the 2025-26 season, the CSC announced Tuesday. Named to the team were seniors Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut), Emma Hawk (Marion, OH / River Valley) and Tiffany Hix (Prospect, OH / Elgin), along with juniors Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor), Alex Couch (Howard, OH / Mount Vernon) and Story Laing (Granville, OH / Granville).
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. To earn CSC Academic All-District distinction, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in class standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 while ranking inside the top 50 in a single event in their respective region. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America team will be announced on Wednesday, July 15.
Danne is an economics and Spanish double major with a 3.95 GPA. She was named All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in both the indoor and outdoor seasons and earned USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region Team for the outdoor season. During the indoor season, she competed individually in the 400-meter dash, ranking in the top 10 in the region, while also competing in the 4x400 meter relay and the distance medley, in which those teams ranked 16th and 10th regionally. Danne continued her success in the outdoor season, adding the 800-meter run to her list of events, placing 2nd regionally and was 41st in the nation. Once again, she placed in the top 10 in the 400-meter dash and both her 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter teams ranked 11th in the region.
Hawk is an education major and holds a 3.70 GPA. She competed in cross country along with both indoor and outdoor track and field. She was named First Team All-NCAC for the cross country season to begin the year. She competed in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 32nd regionally and added the 10,000-meter during the outdoor season, in which she ranked 45th in the 5,000-meter and 30th in the 10,000-meter run.
Hix boasts a 3.89 GPA as an exercise science major. She earned All-NCAC in both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. In the indoor season, Hix competed in pole vault, ranking 13th in the region. During the outdoor season, she added another top 20 region ranking in pole vault at 19th and competed in the triple jump, adding a 28th regional ranking.
Clark is a sport management and management double-major with a 3.78 GPA. During the cross country season, she earned All-NCAC and All-Region honors while qualifying for the national championship by placing 12th in the regional meet. In the indoor track and field season, she ranked 43rd in the region in the 3,000-meter run and 17th in the region in the 5,000-meter run. Clark competed in the 5,000-meter in the outdoor season as well, ranking 41st in the region and ranked top 10 in the region in the outdoor10,000-meter run.
Couch boasts a 3.91 GPA as a biochemistry and molecular biology major. She competed in both cross country and track and field this past season. During cross country, she finished as high as 12th overall at the Jenna Strong Fall Invitational early in the season. In the indoor track and field season, she competed in the distance medley relay, specifically the 1600-meter leg. Her distance medley relay finished the season ranked 10th in the region this past season.
Laing is a biology and environmental science double-major and has a 3.93 GPA. During the indoor season, she ranked 28th in the region in pole vault and in the outdoor season she then improved her pole vault height to rank 8th in the region. Her regional ranking of eighth in the outdoor season, Laing was named to the USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region Team at the conclusion of the season.
