Tigers To Welcome Recruits In Class Of 2018
Maddie Fischer and Rachael Sullivan will join the Wittenberg volleyball program in August 2014.
Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University Volleyball Head Coach Paco Labrador has announced that two student-athletes will join the Tiger program in August 2014.
The new recruits join a team that finished the 2013 season with records of 25-9 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). The Tigers, ranked in the top 13 nationally throughout the 2013 season, won their 19th NCAC regular season and tournament championships a year ago before dropping a 3-2 decision to eventual national champion Calvin in the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Wittenberg is expected to return a whopping 18 letterwinners to the roster in 2014, led by two-time All-American right-side hitter Kara Seidenstricker and All-Great Lakes Region setter Meghan Vodopich. The Tigers will begin their quest for the second national championship in program history Aug. 29-30 by hosting the Wittenberg Courtyard by Marriott National Invitational.
The new recruits are:
- Maddie Fischer (Minerva, Ohio/Minerva)
- Rachael Sullivan (Milford, Ohio/Milford)
“I am looking forward to welcoming these outstanding young women to the Wittenberg University community,” Labrador said. “I look forward to working with them to succeed both academically and athletically during their careers as Wittenberg Tigers.”
