#4 Wittenberg Blanks OWU 3-0 in NCAC Tilt
#4 Wittenberg improved to 5-0 in NCAC play on Wednesday night, as the Tigers hit the road to take on the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University.
DELAWARE, Ohio—#4 Wittenberg improved to 5-0 in NCAC play on Wednesday night, as the Tigers hit the road to take on the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University. The Tigers only needed three sets to take down OWU, as the Tigers won decisively 25-22, 25-23, and 25-19. The Tigers produced a kill-percentage of .310 on the night, thanks to an all-around performance from sophomore setter Karen Wildemann. Wildemann recorded 32 assists in the match victory, as the Tigers saw there most productive offensive match of the year. The victory puts the Tigers at 11-3 (5-0) on the year, while OWU falls to 11-6 (2-2).
MATCH NOTES
- Wittenberg controlled the match offensively on Wednesday, as the Tigers only produced 40 kills in the match, led by junior outside-hitter Maddie Fischer, who recorded 12.
- Beneficiary of Wildemann's hard-work was Camila Quiñones, who complimented the Tigers offense alongside Fischer, with 11 kills of her own.
- Wittenberg saw their most productive set in the third and final set of the night, as the team produced 16 kills at a percentage of .387.
- Madison Manger continued to be all over the floor for the Tigers, as the sophomore recorded 11 of the teams 42 digs Wednesday night in Delaware.
- Emily Kahlig was a force at the net for Wittenberg, as the senior assisted on four blocks in the match, leading the Tigers in that category.
- The Tigers outslugged the Battling Bishops on offense, as the home-team managed to produce a kill-percentage of .197.
