Wittenberg picked to finish third in NCAC in 2024 Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg volleyball team was picked to finish third in the North Coast Athletic Conference in the 2024 Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The defending NCAC Tournament champion Tigers received two of the eight first-place votes and 53 points in the poll.
Reigning regular-season conference champion DePauw was picked as the favorite with five first-place votes and 60 points. Ohio Wesleyan was second, receiving the remaining first-place vote and 55 points. Denison (39 points) and Oberlin (28 points) rounded out the top five.
Wittenberg finished 16-14 overall and placed third in the NCAC with a 5-2 mark in 2023. The Tigers defeated Denison, Ohio Wesleyan and DePauw in the NCAC Tournament to win the title and earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Led by seventh-year head coach Evelyn Miller, the Tigers open their 2024 season hosting Otterbein on Aug. 30 as part of the Wittenberg Fall Classic. Action continues on Aug. 31 with matches against Mount St. Joseph and Berea.
The Tigers open NCAC play on Sept. 28 hosting Ohio Wesleyan.
