Women’s Volleyball Earns 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award

SPRINGFIELD, OH — Wittenberg’s Women's Volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.

Established 34 years ago, the AVCA Team Academic Award honors teams at the high school and collegiate levels that are successful in the classroom. To be recognized, teams must have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale during the entire 2025-26 academic year. A total of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams qualified to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.

This year marks the 22nd time that the Wittenberg women's volleyball program has earned this distinction since its inception in the 1992-93 academic year, joining 15 other NCAA Division III teams to be recognized 20-plus times in the history of the award. Wittenberg earned the honor eight straight years from 2004 to 2011 and six straight times from 2017 to 2022. Wittenberg is one of six North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) programs to earn the honor for the 2025-2026 school year.

Led by Head Coach Evelyn Miller, Wittenberg Women’s Volleyball finished first in the NCAC with a 7-0 record in 2025 while going 21-8 overall with a trip to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
