NORMAL, IL - After a historic home weekend that included an upset over top-ranked Juniata that helped run up a four-match winning streak, Wittenberg Women's Volleyball was unable to keep the momentum rolling on the road against No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan. With the win, the Titans remained unbeaten, improving to 9-0 on the season, while Wittenberg dropped to 5-5 with plenty of opportunities still ahead.
Statistically, Illinois Wesleyan finished with 45 kills, compared to Wittenberg's 18, and had the advantage in digs with 53 to the Tigers' 42. Wittenberg, however, held the edge at the net with 12 blocks to the Titans' five.
Individually, Sam Fincham (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) paced the Tigers with four kills on 15 attempts. Ally White (Harrison, OH / Harrison) anchored the defense with 15 digs, keeping rallies alive throughout the night, while Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH / Southeastern) dished out a team-high eight assists, while Ava Golem (Kirtland, OH / Kirtland) chipped in with three service aces.
