SPRINGFIELD, OH - Fresh off a three-set sweep of Denison in their conference opener, the Wittenberg Tigers returned to action looking to secure a third straight win. Taking on the Earlham Quakers, the Tigers battled through four competitive sets before emerging with a 25–20, 22–25, 25–13, 25–23 victory.
After dropping a hard-fought second set filled with long rallies, Wittenberg bounced back in dominant fashion, cruising to a 25–13 win in the third. The Tigers then came up clutch down the stretch in the fourth, holding off Earlham for a 25–23 set and the match.
The stat sheet reflected Wittenberg's edge across the board. The Tigers racked up 67 kills compared to Earlham's 42, held a 7–4 advantage in blocks, and collected an impressive 91 digs to Earlham's 75.
Offensively, Kaili Worcester (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) led the way with 19 kills while also contributing 18 digs on defense. Kait Colahan (Vermilion, OH / Vermilion) added 15 kills on an efficient .382 hitting percentage, while setter Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH / Southeastern) continued her strong season with 52 assists. On the back line, Ally White (Harrison, OH / Harrison) anchored the defense once again, finishing with a match-high 30 digs.
With the win, Wittenberg improved to 8–6 and will look to keep the momentum rolling Saturday afternoon in a home conference matchup against Kenyon.
