Tigers Pick Up Another NCAC Win Over Ohio Wesleyan
DELAWARE, OH – And the beat goes on for Wittenberg's Women's Volleyball as the Tigers rolled to a 3-0 road victory over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 25, in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match at Branch Rickey Arena.
In a tight battle, the Tigers were able to stave off some last-minute runs by the Battling Bishops to stay atop the NCAC en route to the victory in scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-23.
After being ahead from start to finish in the first set, the Tigers drew to an 8-8 tie in the second before Ohio Wesleyan went on an 11-2 run to take a 19-10 lead. But Wittenberg wasn't done and put together a nice run of its own – a 15-5 one behind key hits by Kaili Worcester (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) and Kait Colahan (Vermilion, OH / Vermilion) – to tally the win. The final set was back and forth, with Witt finally claiming the 'W'. Wittenberg outhit the Battling Bishops, .250 to .075.
With the victory, the Tigers improve to 14-7 overall and 5-0 in the NCAC. Ohio Wesleyan drops to 10-13 overall and 3-2 in the NCAC.
Team Leaders
- Kait Colahan (Vermilion, OH / Vermilion) led the team in kills with 13 for 14.5 points. Kaili Worcester (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) also hit double digits in kills with 10 for 14 points. Colahan turned in three blocks, and Worcester had a team-high four service aces.
- Madelyn Luers (Liberty Township, OH / Lakota East) also had a good day with seven kills, nine points, and a team-high four blocks.
- Ally White (Harrison, OH / Harrison) had a team-high 11 digs to lead the defense, while Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH / Southeastern) led the team in assists with 33. White added two service aces.

- Team totals for Wittenberg included 39 kills on 104 total attacks for a .250 hitting percentage. The Tigers also had 35 assists, eight service aces, 5.0 blocks, and 39 digs.
- Ohio Wesleyan registered 25 kills on 93 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .075. The Battling Bishops also added 24 assists, 13 service aces, 3.0 blocks, and 40 digs.
