Tigers Open the Season at Kenyon
Gambier, OH - Wittenberg's men's and women's cross country teams headed to Gambier to open the 2025 season at the Port Kenyon Opener Cross Country Meet, hosted by the Owls. The Tiger women posted a second-place team finish, and with four runners competing, the Tiger men did not register a team finish.
Wittenberg's women scored 63 points to finish in second behind Ohio Wesleyan, which claimed first with just 23 points. The top finisher for the Tigers in the 4k was Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor) in third overall, with a time of 14:21.4 and next was Emma Hawk (Marion, OH / River Valley) in eighth with a time of 14:59.1. Alex Couch (Howard, OH / Mount Vernon) was 12th in a time of 15:13.4 and Mackenzie Kelley (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) was right behind in 15th, finishing in 15:23.7. The Tiger to wrap up the scoring runners was Svetlana Daniels (London, OH / Madison Plains), who took 29th in time of 15:58.7.
The top finisher for the men's team was Lucas Eisele (Dayton, OH / West Carrollton), who took fourth overall with a 6k time of 19:29.3. The next finisher for the Tigers was freshman Jay Patel (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) in a time of 21:47.9, which was good for 39th. Adam Veotte (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore) finsihed four spots behind in 21.59.1 and in 58th was Taylor Insyxiengmay (Cincinnati, OH / Little Miami) with a time of 25:00.5 to round out the finishers for the Tigers.
