Wittenberg Women Impress at NCAC Championships
Gambier, OH – The Wittenberg men's and women's cross-country teams headed to Kenyon College for the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships. The Tiger women turned in a strong team performance with a fourth-place finish and the Tiger men earned an eighth-place finish.
The team finishes tell only part of the story, however. Both teams were led by runners who earned all-conference awards with outstanding times.
For Wittenberg's women, there were a pair of All-NCAC performances to provide highlights. Senior Emma Hawk (Marion, OH / River Valley) led the Tigers with a stellar fourth-place finish, clocking in at 22:39.6, while junior Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor) followed close behind in seventh place with a time of 22:50.9.
Rounding out the scoring for the Tiger women were Mackenzie Kelley (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) in 38th place (24:18.7), Brittyn Snedaker (Gallipolis, OH / Gallia Academy) in 59th (25:26.1), and Aly Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester, OH / Canal Winchester) in 67th (26:12.1). In addition, Rachel Lahrmer (Sagamore Hills, OH / Nordonia) with a time of (27:10.2) and Abigail Davison (Reynoldsburg, OH / Reynoldsburg) a time of (27:38.3) also provided key depth for the Tigers.
The women's race was won by Ohio Wesleyan with 43 points, followed by John Carroll with 53, and DePauw with 66. Wittenberg scored 133 points.
The Wittenberg men battled through a deep field earning an eighth-place team finish. Senior standout Lucas Eisele (Dayton, OH / West Carrollton) led the charge once again, placing fourth overall with a time of 25:40.5 to continue his strong season. Adam Veotte (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore) was the Tigers' second finisher in 59th place (27:53.7), while Zayden Taylor (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) crossed in 69th (28:31.2) to help anchor Wittenberg's scoring pack.
Freshman Jay Patel (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) finished with a time of 29:57.3, followed by Taylor Insyxiengmay (Cincinnati, OH / Little Miami) in 32:33.6 and Parker Salowich in 35:00.1.
John Carroll claimed the men's title with 24 points, followed by Kenyon with 62 and Oberlin with 73.
