Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg women's soccer team took down NCAC rival the Tigers from DePauw University, 2-1 on Tuesday night from Edwards-Maurer Field. Wittenberg picks up a crucial conference win, moving to 2-2-1 in NCAC play and 4-8-2 on the season.
Wittenberg snapped a three-game scoreless streak in the 36th minute of action when Sydney Weaver found the back of the DePauw net on the assist from Jasmine Evans. The two sides would go into the break tied at 1-1, as Wittenberg would emerge to strike first in the second half. Taylor Vaughn-Stanton put the game-winning goal in the net in the 51st minute of the game coming on the assist from Weaver. Keeper Kelly Corbin would record 15 saves against 16 shots on goal during her 90-minute stint in the net.

Wittenberg will travel to Allegheny for an NCAC showdown with the Gators on Saturday, Oct. 20, kickoff is set for 12:00 PM.
